Pomeranian Health

Pomeranians suffer from patella luxation, a condition causing pain and discomfort in the knees of these dogs. Patella Luxation is common in most toy dog breeds, and Pomeranians are not excluded from this. Because of this, it’s recommended to feed these dogs a diet that consists of nutrients that support joint health and exercise regularly to prevent joint deterioration and diagnosis of the health issue. Pomeranians are also susceptible to Tracheal Collapse, making it recommended to not use leashes on these dogs and instead use harnesses when walking them to avoid tracheal strain. Some other common health issues include hypothyroidism, cushings disease, heart disease, epilepsy, coat loss, and overactive gag reflex.
